Elevated Beaches follows CORONA Brand Ambassadors Mitch and Kasey on a journey through the Canadian mountains — where the snow is as soft as sand, the slopes are as steep as waves, and the sunset vistas are as grand as those over any ocean. Over the course of their experiential journey, they meet locals and other influencers, experience and uncover unique and authentic local traditions, and discover and reveal the hidden gems from Canada’s most iconic mountains, all the while capturing every shareable moment from dawn to après. In the end they show us that the mountains really are a beach – only from 7,000 feet above sea level.
As the social media influencers were confirmed, agency Zulu Alpha Kilo worked with an experiential agency to ideate against uniquely Corona experiences to fuel hero content for the program and curated images, videos, and written stories of the experiences that were shared through Labatt-Corona-owned social channels and local influencers sharing content to their own communities. Producer/Director John Kerr from Crowsnest Films captured and created Television and Web commercial content from these experiences.
One of the things we re-learned for the 100th time on this job is that the weather is always unpredictable at the top of mountains and things usually don’t go as planned. Due to extreme weather moving in, we had to move up the shoot day to the prep day and shoot the majority of this spot with only 1/3 of the crew present, as people were in transit and hadn’t arrived yet in Whistler for the scheduled shoot day.
