Separate estimates were provided for this project based on two different potential concepts: “Book Now” and “Canoe”. The work was originally intended as an internal brand video for a travel and tourism conference, but both the client and the agency wanted the flexibility to be able to use it as a web video and/or broadcast television commercial. The ask was to use non-union talent—real people to be sourced with the assistance of the Travel Alberta client—and a mix of urban and rural locations mostly in and around Calgary and Edmonton, with some very specific requests related to political sensitivities. Travel Alberta “Book Now” was well received at the industry conference and had a long run on the web. It won the award for Best Corporate Production – Internal at the 45th annual Alberta Media Producers Industry Association awards.
